A Remnant Army of Wall Builders
Is the government Shutdown a clarion call for the real “Wall Builders” to arise and build in 2019?
We are in 2019 and the United States government is still in shutdown. There is a thick fog of uncertainty in the air as we said goodbye to the year 2018. As a result of shutdown lots of government offices are not in operation. It affects millions of peoples’ and their daily lives. Many government employees are not getting paid.
It is interesting that during this time there is also a deep uncertainty in the stock markets which is due to other factors and not directly caused by the shutdown. It is hard even for the market experts to figure out which way the markets are going to turn in 2019. All the above factors cause us to pause our daily grind and rethink what is wrong and how to reposition our strategies for 2019.
This is not the first time that President Trump raised the issue of building the wall. Since his inauguration as the president in 2016 it has been a concern that he repeatedly raised and also has seen tremendous opposition.
The Nehemiah project in the Bible started with rebuilding the broken walls. They had no borders. Enemies could easily come in and go out.
Is it coincidental that intercessors are often addressed as the ones standing on the wall? But what if the walls are broken down from decades of organized ruin? Whatever political affiliation one sides with, we can all agree that it is time to build spiritual walls in our nations. Building the wall is about securing the borders. We may not have to agree with President Trump’s decision to build the border walls. However one thing we can agree.
President Trump calling out to build the wall is a clarion call for the remnant to be engaged in building the broken spiritual walls. The remnant needs to rise up and take this responsibility like Nehemiah did before it is too late. This is a clarion call for remnant across all nations to rise up and build not just for the United States.

The repeated connotation about building the wall is a clarion call for the intercessors to recalibrate as a new movement in 2019. Nobody fully knows what this looks like in years going forward. But one thing is certain, it is not going to look like what we have seen or known in the past. It is a big learning curve to many believers. We are not in usual church business anymore. Church as a social or non-profit club or doing some good deeds or having a religious experience is over. The wall building in the Bible was also not fun. It started with a cry and burden for the broken walls from a marketplace believer called Nehemiah. He was passionate about God’s heart while he could have lived a comfortable life minding his business. He had no clue as to what God had in store for him and ask him to do in the next few years to come. It was also a huge learning curve for him.
This is a dilemma the remnant church faces from time to time even today. When we think we have achieved or gotten somewhere, there is a new assignment or hurdle waiting for us that we have no clue. That is the exciting part of the prayer journey because it keeps us wanting to depend on Him always. Many wonder how Nehemiah who had no experience as a general contractor could rally a whole bunch of remnant who were exiles to do such a fantastic job in 52 days as the Bible says. One of the main reasons for his success was that he depended on the Lord every step. The biggest enemy that each of us fights every moment is our self. If we can win that war within us the external enemies are not as bad. James put it well. Submit to God first then resist the enemy; otherwise he will not flee from you. This new era is a season of intercessors recalibrating as an army-they are part of the remnant church that will take their rightful stand to support and help build the walls.
Prayer Leads to Due Diligence and Action
Plans are nothing; planning is everything said Dwight D. Eisenhower. What made Nehemiah and Esther heroes is that they were willing to use their small opportunities and influences to go forward even at the cost of their career and lives. They pushed through the risks as they faced them.
Breakthroughs come when we make the step by faith in obedience than wait for the right opportunity and influence to come to us.
Nehemiah had thousands of reasons to wait for someone else do the job. He was not skilled enough to take the job of a wall builder. He could have sent someone else inspect the walls. Instead he was willing to do it himself. Perhaps the Lord gave Him grace as he prayed just to take the action. At the same time he also made sure not to do things in his own way. He was willing to ask God for each step of the way and confirm before he asked the king (Neh 2:4). During the window of opportunity that is still before us we need to ask Him for His strategy than going ahead with our own strategy.
His interaction with king required some basic homework about his leave of absence and his proposed trip to inspect the walls. When God has some assignments for us we indeed need to do some goal setting and planning as well. “How long will your journey be and when will you return?” the king asked Nehemiah (Neh 2:6). Nehemiah applied wisdom along with his due diligence in every step (Neh 2:7). Nehemiah made an evaluation of what he was getting into before he started building. He inspected the level of ruin before rebuilding (Neh 2:13, 15). Sometimes the work has to be done in stealth mode because of the many enemies around determined to stop us moving forward. Nehemiah was prudent and did the inspection of walls at night. Ezra, a Bible scholar and his team mate also did all that God of heaven had commanded them with diligence for the house of the God (Ezra 7:23).
Don’t sit on plans, rather be plan-ing. Make sure that your plans are in motion.
Will the true intercessors please stand up to build?
The praying folks mostly remain hidden in every community and church. What is special about them is their prayer ‘cellphones’. Need to make sure that our prayer cellphones have great reception with the Master. Prayer is a ministry that can be done in the closet and public. However prayer has many levels of communication. Prayer is not just a one way communication with God. The Bible says that the effective prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much (James 5:16). For the prayers to be answered the pray-er need to meet certain criteria. It is not just enough that God hears our prayers. Like Nehemiah we also need to be willing to do what He commands without hesitancy. He probably had any clue that the assignment would fall on his own shoulders. The sound of the harvest can only become a reality when the remnant is gathered can only be ushered in with prayer and action in this season as we are willing to listen carefully for His strategy and then act on it.
The work has only begun
The great work of the harvest that many have been hearing has only begun. It is time for the ones in the chambers who cried out to God to come out of the closet and be involved in the wall building like Nehemiah. Some pray a lot and earnestly. Some others do spend watches of prayer, during day and night. The remnant who were burdened and troubled with the course of the nations poured out their hearts for God to intervene. The remnant is mostly a small group. But if rightly aligned they are one of the biggest threats to the powers of darkness and the power structures of the world. King Ahab, one of the powerful kings of Israel trembled every time he met Elijah. Even the powerful gentile emperors feared the four captive men in the book of Daniel.
Even many church leaders underestimate the power of the remnant and intercessors. They believe in human intervention more than God’s intervention as most worldly leaders do. They rely on opinions and votes like the rest. When it comes to God, there is an issue of inconsistency that fights us to be faithful to Him. An excitement-led prayer is short-lived. During calamities like 9-11 in the USA people filled churches and prayer meetings in droves the next few months. Shortly thereafter the repentance was put on the back burner. Every time there is a remarkable answer to prayer it is a fresh affirmation that He is still on the throne. Let us not wean off depending on Him and feel a short-termed revival, lasting only for a few weeks or months. He is our continued hope, refuge and daily strength. He is a zealous God.
What we mortals have to fight every day is the lethargy and passiveness to pray as prayer is about depending on God instead of depending on ourselves.
A new remnant revolutionary army
On December 4, 1783, an emotional George Washington, commander in chief of the Continental army, had a farewell meeting in Fraunces Tavern on Wall Street. The Revolutionary War had ended three months earlier, with the signing of the Treaty of Paris, and the United States was an independent nation. On November 25 of the same year, the remaining British troops had evacuated the last occupied city—New York. At the tavern, fighting back emotions, Washington broke the heavy silence with the raise of his wine glass. “With a heart full of love and gratitude I now take leave of you,” Washington toasted, as his eyes scanned the room. “I most devoutly wish that your latter days may be as prosperous and happy as your former ones have been glorious and honorable. I cannot come to each of you but shall feel obliged if each of you will come and take me by the hand.”
From the year the declaration of independence was signed in 1776 to the actual retreat of British took place around Thanksgiving of 1783 was 7 years. Everything was on line for the sons and daughters of revolution those seven long years. The amazing hand of God was evident all over on a small group of people who won over the mighty troops of Great Britain. The freedom that we enjoy was won with life by our forefathers and fellow compatriots who put their lives and everything on the line. George Washington himself told his wife he will see her before Christmas hoping to be back in a year after the war. But that Christmas did not happen until seven years after in 1783.
A New Farewell
Fast forwarding to December 2018, on the anniversary of George Washington’s farewell address in New York City, America gave farewell to the 41st former President George H.W. Bush. Interestingly he was also the first president that addressed the modern NOW (New World Order) terminology. In our Wall Street Prayer ministry which we had since the 2008 financial crisis we felt a major shift on that day while we were praying at Fraunces Tavern. It was a sign of shifting for the remnant to a new era taking back the territories hijacked by the New World Order. Later we were reminded of prophecies that others have made including Chuck Pierce that when President Bush Sr. died we would enter into a New Era.
Like the small number of sons of revolution during George Washington a spiritual revolutionary army from the remnant is rising in this new era. They need to have the mindset of an army. It is not a comfortable choice but a choice that is paid by everything one has. Families, careers, and even own life is on stake for a soldier. The new era is intercessors going to the next level with sacrificial faith and obedience like one enlisted in an army-the army of the kingdom of God. It is the forerunner to the apostolic movement that many have foreseen coming in this season. During the Pentecostal movement of the 1900s Charles Parham and William Seymour have prophesied another apostolic movement in 100 years’ time. For His glory to arise and a new apostolic movement to be restored in 2019 and bring everything unfinished to completion, the work of the remnant army is important. Just like there would have been no United States without a revolutionary army, there will be no apostolic movement without a remnant army.
Such an apostolic movement with Eklessia restored to latter glory need to continue and not die like past revivals in America. The Fulton Street Revival in 1857 started on Wall Street in New York City. The Azusa Street revival took place in Los Angeles in 1906. Both these revivals waned in about 3 years. The extent of the apostolic move in this new era can affect nations and mountains because the extent of the kingdom of God that Yashua won by His blood is for all nations. In supranational world today there are also other factors that influence people and culture than the borders of a nation state. For instance the influence of Hollywood is far beyond United States. It is global. Some call these mountains while others call it spheres of influence. The effect of the apostolic move can also influence these mountains with the kingdom of God. A remnant army united for the purposes of the kingdom in this generation need to arise and build in 2019.
Is there an army rising up?
It is an army coming out of the remnant church. It is a small army that brings alignment of nations and mountains to the kingdom of God. This birthing takes place as the intercessory prayer movement rises to the next level of working with the apostolic team work to get the job done whatever it takes. It operates outside the religious framework of “this is how we do it here” church structures. •The remnant army operates without swords and guns.
•They do not only protest in the streets or market places
•It is a revolutionary army of love.
The color red is commonly used to represent revolution and socialism in many countries. The color red is also represents heart and love in modern culture. It is also the color of blood-the pure blood of the lamb that was slain for our sins. Revelation 12:11 has a key to success of the remnant army. And they overcame him (Satan) because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony. And they did not love their soul until death.
The two effective weapons that the remnant can overcome enemy with is the blood of the Lamb and by declaring and decreeing the word of the God testifying with their own life. It is not a chant rather each time a testimony coming from the heart during the battle that will bring down strongholds and gains new territories. Another qualification that remnant has that often goes unnoticed is that all of them are willing to lay their lives for the sake of the cross. No matter what nation that you fight for once enlisted in the army the ultimate cost you pay is with your life. Every soldier knows this very well. This is not a comfortable position at all, but most in the believers’ circles ever realize this key to victory and overcoming. They like everything else about Christianity except a few things like laying our lives. The remnant army is the new red army that stands on the blood of the lamb, moves in love and fights laying their own lives.
REMNANT…WE GET THE JOB DONE
The mission going forward to 2019 is simple. Whatever it takes, get the job done. The religion of remnant is way different from mainline Christianity or Churchianity. For the remnant, they have passed the threshold of whether they like this church or that ministry. They have transitioned from what others can do for them or what others haven’t done for them. They all had their fair share of wounds from the world and mostly from within the church folks. But it is time to get over licking wounds and rally around the purpose-the kingdom of God. That is their command center. It is past the clichés and clicks. The time has come upon us that what we do come to a season of do or die.
The Esther Moment
And Mordecai commanded them to answer Esther, Do not think within yourself that you shall escape in the king’s house more than all the Jews. For if you are completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall arise to the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house shall be destroyed. And who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for a time like this? And Esther said to return to Mordecai this answer, Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me, and do not eat nor drink three days, night or day. My maidservants and I will also fast in the same way. And so I will go in to the king, which is not according to the law. And if I perish, I perish. And Mordecai passed over and did according to all that Esther had commanded him. Esther 4:13-17
A few things to note from the above passage: It is not a great deal for God to send deliverance without us. If we choose to back off God is not threatened either. But we would miss our God-given calling and purpose for this season. That’s all. Mordechai put it very well to his cousin Esther this truth. Your position or title as a queen or pastor or intercessor is only as good as you rising up to the call of the hour. It is not a position of power to hold on to if not doing the work of faith. It is a time to execute the strategies received and practice what is preached. Esther also chooses to fast with her fellow Jews. I am the queen so I will ask the citizens to fast. Or I am the senior pastor so I will ask my intercessors to do the praying and fasting, was not the attitude true leaders took. David fasted so did the king of Nineveh with his countrymen at the warning of Jonah. It was not just the fasting but Esther’s life was also in 100% danger. If she approached the king outside the protocol the chances are she is not going to come alive. Praying and taking action is a choice everyone in the remnant army has to make for themselves. Yes, there is a counting of the cost but also paying of the cost. There is no way one can bypass the test of faith, no matter from what position or influence you operate.
This is a season for intercessors to lead the way for the remnant church and glory ahead. Intercessors are to be positioned as a remnant army like in the days of the independence. But at this time the war is for the spiritual rebirth of the nation. That is the freedom at stake today. More than freedom at the physical borders it the freedom of the souls that is at stake today.
The intercessors are special operations force in this season
Special operations (S.O.) are military, law enforcement or intelligence operations that are “special” or unconventional and carried out by dedicated Special Forces and other special operations forces units using unconventional methods and resources. In the Unites States some examples of Special Operations Forces are Army Green Berets, Army Night Stalkers, Army Rangers, Navy SEALs, and Navy SEALs Missions and so on. SWAT teams are a Special Operations unit that uses specialized military equipment and tactics. SWAT teams are selected and equipped to solve mission critical assignments which exceed the capabilities of traditional law enforcement. The army of remnant is a special operations unit rising in this season-small groups of special operation units of intercessors
From a remnant standpoint SWAT teams are called for mission critical assignments that operate with wisdom from the Spirit and with spiritual weapons of warfare so that they will know precisely how and what to pray regarding a given subject or situation! They make targeted and strategic prayer strikes led by the Holy Spirit.
Such SWAT teams can be for each state or strategic cities or mountains or spheres of influence like media, business or government etc.
All they need to be qualified in the remnant army SWAT is to be:
Surrendered or fully sold out to Him
Watchful (vigilant and prayerful)
Assurance (confidence in Him)
Temperate (diligent and disciplined)
As the shaking in the markets and governments continue with more uncertainties and shutdowns there need to be quick deployment of different SWAT intercessor teams beginning this year. The shaking is part of God shaking the existing Babylon structures. The Special Operation teams will arise in godly wisdom taking action. If we are positioned right it is also a year of taking plunder from Babylon systems and wealth transfer to the remnant.
